Sound advice if you think you’ve lost valuable digital photos
Here is some simple advice Ibas has developed about what to do with your camera and memory device if an accident should occur. Reacting correctly in the case of an accident increases the chances of a successful photo recovery.
1. When you don't establish contact with the memory device:
- Do not try to take any new pictures
- Do not reformat
- Let an expert with the proper equipment try to recover the photos
2. When you have deleted all the photos or individual
photos:
- Do not take any more photos, as new photos may destroy the old photos
3. When you have lost your camera in the
water:
- Do not turn the camera on to check if it works
- Remove the memory device and keep it moist, preferably packed in plastic
- Deliver the memory device to recovery experts
- Deliver the camera to your local photo dealer
