Computer Forensic Services
Appropriate
Response
Ibas recognises that evidence based on a computer is
extremely volatile and will degrade rapidly. To this end our
ethos is to respond to your needs in the most timely,
appropriate and proportionate manner.
Investigation
Plan
Following your enquiry with Ibas one of our
Investigation Managers will prepare a written Investigation
Plan setting out the agreed objectives, sources of evidence
and our time and cost estimations. This, together with a
Standard Terms and Conditions, will form the agreement between
us. Upon receipt of your written instructions we will proceed
with the investigation as soon as practicable.
Delivery and
Collect
A significant amount of our work is carried out
in one of computer forensic laboratories. Customers can choose
to deliver and collect the relevant sources of evidence from
any of our Forensic Laboratories.
Location Work
The need for immediate response and
confidentiality requires that a substantial number of computer
forensic investigations be carried out on our customer's site
or other appropriate location. Such investigations ensure that
all relevant sources of evidence are identified and examined
in site.
Ibas has
developed and maintains various forensic tools and utilities
that are capable of being securely transported anywhere in the
world. When necessary Ibas is able to deliver all phases of a
forensic investigation while working on location. The Ibas
methodology for computer forensic investigations ensures that
the highest evidential standards are maintained as well as the
security and confidentiality of all material relating to the
investigation.
Covert
Acquisition
Covert investigations frequently reveals
compelling evidence while ensuring that the subject is denied
any opportunity to destroy other evidence or alert
conspirators. Ibas has considerable experience in managing and
delivering covert investigations so that they can be
successfully completed in a legal and ethical manner.
Proactive
Investigation
A proactive investigation is the term used to
describe an investigation that is conducted before, or during,
the time that a crime is being committed. Human rights and
rules of evidence are undeniably the most important factors in
a proactive investigation. Ibas has the professional knowledge
and experience required addressing the acquisition of evidence
from a computer in such a manner.
Investigation
Report
Once the objectives have been achieved we will
prepare a full Investigation Report. This report will address
the identification and continuity of the evidence, describe
the procedures that we deployed together with a summary of the
results; our observations, conclusion and, where appropriate,
our recommendations. The report will include any relevant
extracts referred to in the report that supports our analysis
or conclusions.
Expert Witness
Expert opinion is frequently required to
interpret or support the forensic evidence. As one of the
world's leading authorities in the storage and recovery of
data Ibas seamlessly provides access to a wealth of expertise
that is second to none.
The
resolution of incidents frequently requires the preparation of
formal witness statements, affidavits or exhibit bundles.
Ibas' senior investigators have experience in various
jurisdictions throughout Europe in the preparation of such
evidence.
Confidentiality
Ibas is proud of its worldwide reputation for
honesty and integrity. All information that is disclosed to us
is subject to our own terms and conditions that include our
standard procedures addressing confidentiality. If considered
appropriate Ibas will discuss and agree a formal
non-disclosure agreement (NDA) with you.
